"Too Hot"

It has been so hot here in the South this summer...

"Too Hot"

I am so used to the foggy summers of San Francisco...

...and it is time for me and my family to find a shady spot,
on the porch of a "Precious Pink Cottage" or

...in some "Hot Shade"?

Where we can catch the Gulf breeze,

...in a secret "Resting and Nesting Spot"

...or simply enjoy the view of bountiful and colourful flora, in a "Hot Seat"

"Gone Fishing"

...and devour delicious freshly caught sea food.

We will definitely "Eat~Rite!"

I think the first thing we will do

is grab our "Hot Buckets" and head for the beach!

I've been waiting for this all summer long...I may not come back!

Happy Summer Friends,

Suzanne

Be Zazzled

I mentioned earlier this month that I had been working on a few projects. Today I want to give you a preview of and un-veil my new Zazzle shop.

There are so many beautiful and funky items available by artists we all may recognize through Etsy, Flickr, and our art blogs. I thought it would be fitting for me to become a part of this mercantile of artists and designers.

That, and the fact that the Zazzle team makes it so much fun!

I first became acquainted with Zazzle last fall shortly after I began this blog and added their link to my favorites list. Occasionally I would check it out and thought about creating some new merchandise using my art and photography and starting a Zazzle store. Recently I got busy working with my designs and some of their products and now have a collection that I hope will Zazzle your mind!

I have licensed my designs and photography on work in the past ~ everything from table linens to shelf paper, from ceramic dinnerware collections to floor mats, stationery products, posters, gifts, and more.

This time however, I have the “creative license” to produce whatever product I wish. How much fun is that? I have never designed Ked's canvas shoes before...

...or United States postage stamps

...or baby clothing.

Other categories of products I am offering will include:

Home & Office
Magnets ~ Mouse pads ~ Fun Stuff

In & Out of the Garden
Flower Shoes ~ Garden Totes ~ Artist's Aprons

Little Angels
Clothing ~ Totes ~ Shoes

The Handwritten Word
Postcards ~ Note Cards ~ Postage

All of my designs and photographs may be available on Zazzilions of products. If you don’t see something in my new shop that you want, just contact me and I can create something special and personalized just for you!

As always photographs, original paintings and illustrations, and prints that you see here or on Flickr are available in my Etsy shop or directly through me.

Now click, click, click and be ZAZZLED!

I will continue to add to the collection and hope that you take a moment and do some window shopping. If you have time, let me know you stopped by and leave a comment.

Hot Off The Presses!

Have you seen the beautiful new issue of Somerset Life?

If not, turn off of your computer and go out and purchase one right now!
It happens to be one of the best issues ever...

Of course all the Somerset Life journals are luscious, this one is my absolute favorite because my photography is featured on page 127!

~ ~ ~

Here are the originals...

A perfect peach in a pretty hand painted bowl made by my son.

Hot yellow summer daisies and a favorite black & white French chair.

I am so happy to be included in this issue ~ it was a surprise today while we were all at the bookstore shopping for a new "I Spy" book for our son, to find my work featured in this current issue of Somerset Life. I just recently submitted my photographs and had no idea that they would be published so soon. Thank you editors of Somerset.

Now it is time for me to get off my computer and enjoy this decadent magazine.

Stars and Stripes and Watermelon

Happy Fourth of July!

"...I pledge of allegiance, to the flag of the United States of America..."

I've been remiss in writing lately ~ we have been just trying to stay cool in this excruciatingly hot summer in the South, dealing with small summer tornadoes touching down in our yard (yes tornado, not tomato), and computer chaos (when am I going to learn to NOT click on the upgrade windows that pop up???).
I have been working on several projects however, which I will tell you about very soon.

Have a fun and safe weekend and...

Eat lots of watermelon!

Ciao amici,
Suzanne
