One World One Heart - A Magical Carpet Ride

Some of you may know about the One World One Heart event that was created in 2007 by Lisa Swifka. I first read about it on a friendly blog last year and thought, “What a fun and fabulous idea.” At the time I was so new to blogging that I did not participate.

The other evening while catching up on reading posts of my favorite “blog beauties” I found out that this annual event started this week for the fourth consecutive year.

So I clicked and found A Whimsical Bohemian. I read all about the inception of this event and also learned a little about this “Bohemian” whose art is "whimsical" and who also just happens to be a California girl, and who created and organizes this event.

= The Story =

The original idea for this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world - bloggers who may never ordinarily meet. This event tightens the gap of the art blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, not to mention marvelous art and design. In the process of all this we give a gift from our hearts to a new friend and possibly win a gift or two for ourselves along the way.

This international event unites this giant community of creative bloggers. It is an opportunity for those of us who are still relatively new in the art blogging community to meet and interact with those seasoned bloggers and hopefully establish delightfully new relationships.

So now that you know the story and I do too, I am getting on the Magic Carpet - along with almost 800 other bloggers.

Lisa’s “Goddess of the Sun” painting gave me the direction I needed for the Magic Carpet Ride theme and I decided to give away two giclee prints of my bright sun faces ~ to spread a little sunshine around the world.

This is how they started. Some of you may remember these unfinished sketches from here.

The original pen and ink drawings were painted with gouache (one of my favorite mediums because of the saturation you can achieve with the paint). They have been sold to a gallery and look fabulous framed in square tangerine colored frames.

I am giving away two giclee prints (one of each) of these paintings, which have just as vibrant color as the originals. They are printed on an acid free, heavy weight (140 lb.), cold press Strathmore watercolor paper. The image size of each is 7” x 7” and the over all size is 8” x 10” which will fit in a standard size frame.

These are artist’s proofs (A/P) and initialed in pencil by me. Prints are available in limited edition - printed in series of 25 and numbered.

= How to Enter =

To enter the drawing please leave a comment and let me know a bit about you. The deadline to enter for everyone participating is at the stroke of midnight Sunday, February 14th. I will randomly select a winner from those of you who leave comment here and announce the winner on Monday, February 15th. Good luck!
