Simple Beauty

A sweet remembrance...

...for a teacher on her birthday.

While I wrapped a tin can with pink and green polka dot wall paper,

tied it with a sage green grosgrain ribbon, and...

embellished it with a felt posie and pink rhinestone sparkle...

the little student picked these luscious camellias from our backyard garden.

With over two hundred camellia trees in so many varieties and hybrids to choose from in our garden, my favorites are these ~ so ruffly they remind me of David Austin English roses.

And when the blooms fade and drop,

First Grade Teacher will have a pretty pencil holder for her desk.

Ciao amici,

White Washed

For some time, I have been wanting to give my blog a fresher look and a bit of a style lift, starting with a change in my banner to represent a little more of my photography

Having so many choices in my collection of photographs, I narrowed my selection to some of my "most interesting" {according to Flickr} and created some collages with groups of my signature and iconic photographs.

Staying true to my own sense of design, I wanted a graphically clean new look.

So the baskets of peaches have been made into cobbler, however they remain my trademark logo and avatar, so you can still savour their sweet juiciness now and then.

 {buzz, buzz}

For now I have decided on the photos you see on the new banner above, but occasionally I may surprise you with a change of photos in the banner because so many of these are my favorites.

I white washed my walls and Blogger has finally given us more options in fonts and colours, which I changed throughout.

I created special pages for my blog beauties {which has allowed me to expand my list and include so many more of you whose work I enjoy};

mutual admiration...{I am always appreciative of those who feature my work on their blogs and web sites};

and favorite posts...{the readers' choice}.

 Other pages have been moved to my side bar under ~

...where there are links to my shops and all that other good stuff that was at the top of the blog.
{this is a peach of a team}

There are also some new buttons and links on my side bar, so I hope you will linger for a while and have a look around.

Thank you, as always, for your visit

 Ciao amici,

Since my walls have been white washed, I felt it appropriate to link up with the White Wednesday tour.

One World One Heart. . .One Winner

Time for the "Booty Call"

It's the end of the international blog journey of One World One Heart ~ the fifth and final year.  I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to all of you who visited me here and on My Front Porch.  I hope you will come back again occasionally for a visit and let me know you were here.

Although I did not have the chance to visit as many new blogs as I had hoped to, the ones I found were very enjoyable ~there is a lot of talent out there and  some of you had me laughing out loud with your wicked sense of humor!

I appreciate all of your comments, but especially those of you who took the time to write a personal note and not just "cut and paste" your comments from blog to blog...I think you know what I mean.  The original intent of One World One Heart was to meet bloggers from around the world, perhaps find new friends, and see the artistic endeavors of those bloggers, not just enter a contest to win a prize...that's just the bonus.  I think I found a few new friends. that I have your attention, {as if I did not have it already with those cute buns up above...} I would like to first show you some precious hand made angelic paper tags I have recently added to my collection.

From one of my most popular images...

"Booty Call"

I created this collection of note cards {or tags} by tinting the original black and white image of my angels in sky blue, pale pink, aquamarine, and yellow.  I digitally added a few textures, layers, shadows, and other good stuff...

When satisfied, I made giclee prints on 140 pound cold press, acid free watercolour paper, layered and floated the angels onto another watercolour card, embellished each with coordinating rhinestones, and added colourful streamers of satin ribbon.

The edges of each card are burnished with silver ink and each is signed in pencil by me.  I sell these in sets of four as shown above and can also do custom orders for baby showers, birthdays, or any special occasion.  They are available in my Etsy shop.

Now I would like to offer a big congratulations to Daria Pew who is the lucky recipient of my Paris Rose

Enjoy sweet Daria!

I will also be offering this photo for sale directly through me on My Front Porch.

Thank you Lisa, A Whimsical Bohemian, for another wonderful year of One World One Heart.

Ciao amici,

Cupid is red hot today...

and he's been fooling around...

with me.

He loves me, he loves me not...

Just shoot me!

Lucky for me I do not have to fish for my Valentine{s}...

Both my sweethearts live with me!

And hold the key to my heart.

And yes, there is lots of love.

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you.  May your hearts be full of love today and always.

Ciao amici,

Stay tuned ~ in my next post {February 17th} I will be announcing the winner of my One World One Heart give away.  There's still time to enter ~ just leave a comment on these posts: It's Time and Come Fly With Me on My Front Porch.

Black and W H I T E...

...and read all over!

Some of you may remember when I was telling you how "Haute" it was getting in my kitchen last fall...

These Indian summers in the Deep South can get quite steamy...

So much so that I needed a cool little apron to wear when I was working in the kitchen...

So I made this one, and now...

My sexy little CHANEL inspired apron adorns the pages of the 2011 annual edition of {apron~ology}.

Thank you Beth for loving my work and including it in this fabulous issue of {apron~ology}.  I am thrilled to have my work included among such fabulous creations.

{apron~ology} is on newsstands now!

Ciao amici,
