Finding Beauty

Hundreds of blooming pink dogwoods sparkle in the woods of our lake retreat.

They are one of my favorite blooming trees in the South.  In the Spring, when all the cherry blossoms have faded and the pear trees have turned from clouds of white flowers to lush chartreuse leaves, the dogwoods continue to grace us with their creamy white and coral pink simple four petal ruffled flowers which seem to dance among the dark evergreens.

{While their beauty does not need any retouching...I played around for a bit with this photograph.}

And then I came home to find some "Love Letters" in my mailbox.

I knew when I read the "Table of Contents" of the Spring issue of Somerset Life that I would be delighted with what was inside.

And you might be too!

Earlier this year the Assistant Senior Managing Editor, Jennifer Jackson, of Somerset Life asked me if I would be interested in having them feature Italian Girl in Georgia in their "Blogs With A View" department in an upcoming issue of Somerset Life.

Hmmm, I really had to think about that for a L O N G time...

...and what do you think I said?!?

So leave it to her and her staff to select the most reflective photographs of my collection and assemble them in such fluent and lovely collage for the article.

I am beyond pleased and so thrilled.  Thank you once again Somerset Life, for featuring my work in its finest.  You do me proud!

There's also a sneak peek in the middle of the magazine at the Summer 2011 issue of Where Women Create...

...on news stands May 1st.

I was fortunate last year to have met Jo Packham and was not only asked to be a featured designer at The Creative Connection last September, but also to write about my "creative" space for Where Women Create.  {That's my desk in the photograph.}

I had a chance to review the article before it went to press, and it gave me chills {good chills}.  What an honor.  {I guess Marie Osmond and I finally have something in common.}

On top of that, the oh-so-chic Miss Beth Livesay featured my petit jewelry bags in her Haute Handbags magazine this month.  Two Stampington publications in my mailbox in one day!  {No April Fool's this year!}  I continue to be amazed at all of this.

Now that these petit jewelry totes are back from the Stampington offices, I will be listing them in my Etsy shop.  Look for a shop update with many more one of a kind items early this week.

Thank you "Stampington Girls" for allowing me to be a part of your books.  It's such an honor to be included.

My creative life certainly has changed for the better since I began my blog just over two and a half years ago. I continue to stay stimulated by observing the talented work of so many international designers and artists, as well as being challenged by the Stampington editors on a regular basis.

Thank you for your visit.  I appreciate all of you who take the time to stop by and say hello {and even those of you who are quiet!}.

Ciao amici,
Suzanne
