Glamorous Goblins and Autumn Charm

...vintage style.

Ethereal and glamorous goblins adorned with vintage millinery, rhinestones, and glittery crowns have floated into my home this month...

...landed in the midst of willowy branches in crystal vases, and joined the Mr. and Mrs. of sugar skulls who are standing guard in this haunted house.

Inspired by some similar and more minimalistic goblins I recently saw at a Vintage Marketplace, I made these sweet spooks by first sewing some linen pieces together in free form ghost-like shapes and filling each with downy soft fiber fill.

I drew their puzzled, happy, and frightened expressions freehand using black ink.  But they could not hang around here without any costumes, so I dressed these naked goblins so they would be ready for their big night of the year.

I draped layers of cheesecloth over each form to create their transparent, phantom-esque appearance, and secured the filmy fabric with some sparkly pins.

Using my stash of vintage rhinestone jewelry and creamy white millinery, and a little handiwork, I dressed them up.  This little guy above has a crown which I made using champagne cork wires, while his Momma {who you saw earlier} has a crown I made using lace and silvery glitter.

With sashes of ribbons, adornments of white sparkle, and bouquets of ancient flowers,

these glamorous goblins were finally ready to celebrate and have a ghoulish time!

Now on another not-so-scary note, I have a bit of gratitude to express to my friend Sonia Crouse.

I am so pleased to have my autumn styling and photography featured in the September 2014 edition of this beautiful journal, Creating Vintage Charm - Inspiration for Creative and Pretty Living.

It is full of interior design inspiration, photography, includes a handcrafted marketplace featuring the editor's favorites, tutorials for projects featured that you can re-create, and so much more.

Thank you Sonia {Editor-in-Chief} for the opportunity to be one of your contributors in this issue.
