A New Old Fashioned Christmas

~ Grapevine Holly Berry Wreath Tussie Mussies ~

There's something about the traditional Christmas colours and decorations that makes one feel nostalgic about this time of year. No matter what the colour trends are for the season, the classics are timeless. As a young girl I remember fondly helping my mom tie all the red and green plaid bows on the topiary trees in front of our home; putting big floppy bows on baskets of sugar pine cones; and making our very own home grown rosemary wreaths to hang in our dining room.

In another series of my Victorian inspired tussie mussies that I have made using my pen and ink, gouache, and watercolour designs from my All Gouached Up!™ collection, I have created some new "old fashioned" Christmas ornaments.

Illustrated with pretty holly berry grapevine wreaths and Christmas trees with garlands and doves, they are rich in colours of cranberry red, pine green, antique gold, amber, and plum.

I have adorned each with organza ribbons and bows and added beads and baubles. Each also comes with its own hang tag and they are sold in sets of two.

Printed in my studio on archival quality smooth finish Bristol board, these one of a kind paper cone ornaments and gift totes are now available in my Etsy shop.
As a reminder RED FRIDAY is December 4th ~ that means FREE SHIPPING on all of my Etsy merchandise {and those of the other artists participating in the Red Friday fun}.

Some more old fashioned goodness is this set of gift tags I have made using my "vintage" illustrations from a collection of my work that I once had offered on stationery when I first started my design business.

These Collezione dei Fiori® {Italian for Collection of Flowers} tags and paper ornaments are also printed in my studio on archival quality Bristol board. With each of the four designs, I have created an antique sepia tone, distressed paper effect while allowing the crisp black pen and ink drawings to pop.

Each print floats atop the card and has a natural jute twine tie for hanging. Personally, I think that these tags are great for all year long ~ especially perfect as "Welcome to Your New Home" tags or even as bookmarks in garden books. Just a thought. These are my original pen and ink illustrations, not clip art! They are sold in sets of four in my Etsy shop.

Cara Suzanne,

Wish I had your talent for decoration. And I wish I had a big family to share traditions with. Since there are only the two of us (and the dogs, of course), my X-mas decorations are low-key. Candles everywhere though, and I put my heart and soul into cooking. Love your photography, cara! Bacione, Ingrid in Umbria
