SPANISH STYLE SUNSHINE

Sinuous curves, stucco architecture, sunshine, sand...

and the essence of the West Indies.

Our week at Rosemary Beach on the Gulf Coast of Florida was reminiscent of a trip to the islands or the Spanish Riviera.

The rustic, almost primitive architectural wood details on the buildings throughout the village, striped awnings sheltering balconies and lanais, shuttered windows, al fresco dining, the soft and muted palette of sandy colors, villas, and driftwood bicycle paths are this town's signature.

As always, if we were not in the pool or at the beach, we were on our beach cruisers...cruising.

Stopping often to snap photographs of the details...

Arched portalsoutdoor showerssoft stone walls...

Gorgeous wrought iron gates opening into courtyards,

forged hinges,

and scrolled wall sconces.

The neutral palette throughout Rosemary Beach is shown in almost every detail.

Lovelove, these high gloss black plantation chairs perched on a Carrera marble terrace.

The beautiful tropical green foliage is striking against the black and white backdrop.

This simple rustic white door shimmers in the shadows of the canopy of olive trees above.

Then...some cabana color surprised us with this colorful facade...

and I think, my favorite door of all - this cheerful kiwi green and white striped door at the end of a sandy path.

When we finally arrived at our destination of the day, it was perfect.

The Emerald Sea is named just that for a reason.

Waiting for the perfect wave.

This is what it is all about.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your summer, wherever you may be.  Thank you for your visit.
