The Colour of The Year

Have you heard?

The colour of the year is Pantone's Honeysuckle

According to the Pantone Pros, "Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life."

This captivating colour has always been a favorite of mine, although I have often referred to it simply as, HOT PINK!

I love using hot pink as an accent in my home,

whether it be in a pale minty green and white bedroom,

where I have used it to trim my comfy white chair...

or in my garden each Spring in the form of paper lanterns and flowers...

or alluring accessories in my wardrobe.

It also seems to pop up in my photography on occasion.

Not to mention, there is a little romance going on in my Etsy shop these days too...with a recent shop update, many of my photographs...

all have a healthy dose of this hue.

My new boots are even lined with this invigorating colour!

Now go out and find some honeysuckle pink anywhere you can, inhale, and enjoy.

Ancient Gardens, Baroque Villas, Carnevale, Medieval Rome...

...is my inspiration for a new collection of one~of~a~kind matchbook style pocket books I have listed in my Etsy shop and on My Front Porch.*

Pretty and practical, they fit perfectly in your handbag, tote, or coat pocket.  And with twenty pages of 50 pound acid free sketch paper they are a lovely booklet for sketching an idea or jotting down a note.

Each is made using recycled commercial wall covering samples for the cover stock. As an interior designer I have access to some fabulous products and when they are discontinued, I get to keep them! These elegant wall papers are so durable you can even wipe them clean with a damp cloth if your latte should spill on the cover.

This first series of note books are Italian inspired with patterns, textures, and motifs reminiscent of the renaissance, medieval Rome, glazed stucco, ancient gardens, San Gimignano rose quartz, and frescoed walls.

Ancient Gardens

Venetian reds, soft pink stucco of Baroque villasmossy greens of ancient Italian gardens, Amalfi coastal blues, opulent gilded goldsTuscan sunflower yellows, rich espressos, and the creamy shades Carrera marble are some of the monochromatic colour schemes chosen for this collection.

Botticelli Rose

Both the inside and outside cover are finished with the pretty paper. Inside the front cover there is a small rhinestone embellished pocket filled with five two-inch square notes ~ just the right size to pen a phone number.

Creamy Carrera

The booklets are bound with a coordinating ribbon tied in a bow and a delicate scalloped edge is hand cut along one edge of the booklet where it folds over and “locks” shut with a Velcro dot.

Espresso Bean

They are sold in sets of five monochromatic colours and make wonderful brides gifts, hostess gifts, party favors, and amenities for an overnight guest.

If you have any special requests, I am happy to work with you in selecting colours, patterns of paper, or personalizing ~ just let me know.  I have a terrific collection of these papers right now ~ but they will not last long!

Hope you like them and thank you for your visit, as always.
