Tropical Sunshine

This lovely window box caught my eye in Charleston while I was strolling the hot and humid neighborhoods, walking through cobblestone streets, and looking through gated wrought iron courtyard gardens. The colour of the wall contrasting with the lavender shutters and hot pink flowers was delicious! The tropical sunshine dappled on the aqua stucco sparkled. I have this one hanging in my home ~ you can have it too. Just do a little window shopping...

"Charleston"

It has been a favorite in many Etsy treasuries and today it starts the week of in two ~ thank you friends! Check out these luscious collections of work by some creative souls on Etsy:

"BerryLicious" in the Main Treasury by "pearliebird," and in

Treasury West "A Room by the Sea" by "Two Left Hands"

Just as I was editing this post, as an added surprise I found another one of my photos, "Secret Garden," in this spicy treasury:

"olive + orchid" curated by sosorosey.

Just found out that this one made it to the Front Page!!!

Thank you to Jennie of soso"FABULOUS" and to Etsy Administration ~ you rock!

Take a moment and check out the talented work of all those featured in the treasuries and those who curated them, as well.

If anyone places an order for either of these photographs while they are featured in these three treasuries for the next few days, I will not charge shipping. When you check out on Etsy, leave a comment in the "message to buyer" section of my Etsy page letting me know which treasury you visited and paste the link. (Once the treasury expires, the link is no longer good.) While you are there, show your support and leave a friendly comment for the curator too! A little way of saying thank you!

Bon Jour ~ Springtime in Paris

Springtime in Paris...?

It looks like I may have seen this at a flea market in France, doesn't it? Actually, I saw this old metal fence hanging on a wall on St. Simons Island, GA. The "Bon Jour" metal buckets distressed with pale hues of blue, green, and yellow contrast in a charming way with the intense and bright yellow tulips and royal purple lilac and iris.

It's been in some lovely Etsy treasuries and has not been in my shop for a while so I have just re-listed it. It is available as an ACEO, as well as matted 5" x 7" and 8" x 12" prints.

This is also available as a cute magnet set.

Yes...Paris in Springtime!

Several years ago while visiting I stumbled upon this colourful flat in a courtyard surrounded by grey buildings.

Parisian Flat

It was one of the very few buildings in Paris with any significant exterior colour. The rich ochre and crimson are striking with the black shutters. The simplicity of the architecture and aged patina I find very appealing. I have this one enlarged to an 11" x 17" and framed in an antique gold frame hanging in my dining room. It is one of my favorites and I will be listing in in my Etsy shop this week.

Bon Jour!

Secret Garden

I stumbled upon this quaint garden while walking through the neighborhoods of downtown Chicago one Spring afternoon. The owner of this cottage was just coming home with some fresh bread and a newspaper, and I asked if I could photograph her garden. It was such an unusual shabby garden for the area that I just had to capture it on film. It has been one of my most popular photographs and again available in my Etsy shop.

My Easter Table

It was a beautiful Spring day today and a lovely beginning to our Easter weekend.

Wishing all of you a very Happy and Holy Easter...

And a little peek at my Easter table...a mix of old and new, a cute bunny bowl I purchased recently and "hop, hop, hop" tea cup, a twig bird's nest we found in our back yard and filled with some of my hand painted wooden eggs...

A happy and floppy ceramic bunny with a garland of flowers around her neck, proudly watches over the treats (most of which have been eaten already by my little boy!).

A hand made porcelain and hand painted basket I purchased in Italy some time ago, and vintage porcelain place card holders that were left in this old house by my husband's Grandmother ~ chipped and charming.

Minty green mopheads of hydrangeas, freshly picked today ~ just one week ago they were tightly closed and a bright, lime green...and

Dappled afternoon sunlight pouring through the large window paned bay window in our dining room.

Happy Easter, Happy Spring!

Easter Time

Easter is on its way. The baskets have not been filled yet, but we've had a little indulgence in
lemon lime Jelly Belly jelly beans this week.
