Bon Jour ~ Springtime in Paris

Springtime in Paris...?

It looks like I may have seen this at a flea market in France, doesn't it? Actually, I saw this old metal fence hanging on a wall on St. Simons Island, GA. The "Bon Jour" metal buckets distressed with pale hues of blue, green, and yellow contrast in a charming way with the intense and bright yellow tulips and royal purple lilac and iris.

It's been in some lovely Etsy treasuries and has not been in my shop for a while so I have just re-listed it. It is available as an ACEO, as well as matted 5" x 7" and 8" x 12" prints.

This is also available as a cute magnet set.

Yes...Paris in Springtime!

Several years ago while visiting I stumbled upon this colourful flat in a courtyard surrounded by grey buildings.

Parisian Flat

It was one of the very few buildings in Paris with any significant exterior colour. The rich ochre and crimson are striking with the black shutters. The simplicity of the architecture and aged patina I find very appealing. I have this one enlarged to an 11" x 17" and framed in an antique gold frame hanging in my dining room. It is one of my favorites and I will be listing in in my Etsy shop this week.

Bon Jour!
